Here I would like to show you some pictures of Rethymno, where
I live. It is a town on the north coast of Crete with a fascinating mix
of Turkish and Venetian architecture in the old town. The town is dominated
by the 'Fortezza', a large fort which is on the headland.
My gallery and workshop are just off the beach road which sweeps round the
large bay to the east of the town, and which has kilometres of sandy beach.
Come and visit sometime!
The following link will show you the weather in Crete, the pictures on the
right hand side of the screen show you what the weather is like for each
day for the next five days. Click

Turning in the Sun Many woodturners who visit me envy the fact that I can work outside in the summer. The weather can get hot here so it is very pleasant to work outside, and I don't need to use any dust extractors.

These photos show the harbour area with the Fortezza castle on the promontary, and the ferry waiting to go to Athens.

The first photo shows the old road up to the Fortezza entrance. The second photo shows a typical street in the old town, which is full of atmosphere.
